Permitted-use matrix

What a licence lets you do with the data, and what it never does.

Updated 15 Oct 2026

Read across a row for one use, down a column for one agreement. Where a mark is half drawn, the use is allowed only if your licence names it.

The fixed lines

Two uses are never permitted under any agreement:

  • Redistribution. You can't resell, share or publish the data, or release a derivative from which it could be reconstructed.
  • Re-identification. You can't try to identify anyone in the data, including by voice, or link it with other data to do so.

Affiliates and contractors

If your licence names affiliates or contractors, they may use the data for the same permitted uses, under the same obligations, and you remain responsible for them.

Questions

If a use you have in mind isn't on the grid, ask us before you start. The binding text is your licence and the data licensing terms.
